Well, I’m happy to report that these months did me well for recovery and rejuvenation with a lot of work, hustle and fun bike rides intertwined. A great balance of productivity and fucking around.

My approach to life tends to come in bursts: either taking everything in or sprinting toward something I’ve decided I want. Either way, it’s always full tilt. That’s why the change of seasons can feel like a reset after a stretch of time that seemed static.

Last month brought a rewarding milestone for me: two of my articles were published. When I first set out, I gave myself a goal: to publish one hundred pieces. I’m now nearly halfway there, and these latest articles added to that growing body of work.

It felt like history unfolding in real time—threads of heritage, resilience, and saudade woven into every frame. To contribute behind the scenes was, in its own way, an act of preservation. Our history, our language, our people—there is so much there, waiting to be told.

I feel fulfilled. Now on the horizon there is much to do which will get done but if I look at the list of things it gives me anxiety. It’s important to remind myself that step by step it’ll all get done and more.

Building a relationship with that land takes the experience to another level. Visit one of your favourite nature spots in a different season and notice how it changes you. The seasons add an entirely new dimension, revealing moods and meanings you hadn’t noticed before.

It feels like I’m juggling a lot on paper, but my writing habits strike when elicited and it cannot be forced otherwise. That being said, I will get them done, and hopefully my upcoming trip to Portugal will provide some good quiet time to hunker down and do it.
