A Decade Later: How the Old Mill Continues to Shape Our Memories

There’s something magical about places that hold our stories within their walls—places where time seems to settle gently, layering memories one atop another. For us, the place is the Old Mill.

Back in 2015, Ashley and I tied the knot there. What began as a whirlwind of emotions quickly turned into one of the most heartfelt days of our lives. I still remember the impromptu reception line we formed, greeting every guest one by one, sharing hugs, laughs, and tiny slivers of joy with each person who came to celebrate us. The photo session that followed was equally spontaneous, capturing the candid glow of the day. Now, those photos fill our walls at home, frozen moments that bring the warmth of that day rushing back every time we walk by.

Earlier this year, we celebrated our ten-year anniversary. It’s hard to believe how quickly a decade can unfold, yet returning to the Old Mill still feels like stepping into a preserved chapter of our own history. Though we haven’t visited often, every time we go back it feels familiar—like the building itself remembers us too.

This holiday season gave us the perfect excuse to return. Snowflakes drifted past the windows, softening the world outside, while the historic stone walls of the Old Mill hugged us in close. We indulged in their excellent buffet breakfast—comforting, festive, and exactly what the season calls for—before heading to the spa for a couples massage. Between the warmth of the room, the scent of relaxing oils, and the gentle hum of holiday music, we found ourselves sinking into absolute stillness. It was a quiet celebration, yet one that felt profound: a moment to breathe, reconnect, and let the spirit of the season wash over us.

Ten years later, the Old Mill continues to shape our story. It’s more than just a venue—it’s a thread woven through our past and present, a place where we continue to add new chapters, each one touched by the charm and history that first drew us in.

Here’s to the memories already made, and to the ones still waiting for us within those timeless walls.

What a tender, memory-soaked reflection. Your story turns the Old Mill into something far more than a venue — it becomes a living witness to your love, your growth, and the quiet rituals that shape a life together. The way you weave your wedding day, your decade of marriage, and this serene holiday return gives the place a soul of its own. It’s warm, intimate, and beautifully grounded in gratitude.
