Lost & Found: Luso Loonie

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. As the weather changes and the hoodie sweaters come out and I find myself reflecting on deep thought all over again.

Perhaps the summer elicits a type of writers block, which leaves me paralyzed for words and all creativity dries up in the heat of a dry sun on the coast of the lake, where I spent much of my free time riding two wheels. It’s hard to explain how I’ve been feeling but needless to say I haven’t got much writing done over the summer.

The cold draft takes the fun out of the breeze between my ears, so I’m finding myself crawling back inside and the words are slowly coming back to me. I’m hoping to get back to blogging regularly and capturing some insights from which the Luso Loonie blog had spawned from. This Portuguese thing of ours is still as curious as ever, and as time goes on, I discover new family stories and connections to my sense of being.

Over and above, I’m approaching a crossroads, which will change the course of my life as I know it, and hopefully inspire many new stories. However, as promising as things may feel, it’s well advised to tread lightly and take things as they come because the higher your expectations reach, the harder you can fall if it doesn’t pan out. Just keep doing the work.

Taking a summer break from writing can be a good thing as summer calls us to be fully engaged with our surroundings and leaving the writing and the thoughts in our minds to when the days are cooler and more inviting for reflection.

Looking forward to what you will write in the months to come.

Thank you Emanuel! I agree that a break from anything can be beneficial and hopefully the words come back to me. I appreciate your comment. Cheers!

The landing gets softer each time you try and with each attempt you get a little closer to your goal. Keep pushing, keep writing

Thank you Mel! Practice makes perfect for sure. This summer felt like an off season for me but I’m getting back into the habit.
