“You get what you work for” The Manuel de Lima Meireles story

Excerpts from my book, ‘The Portuguese Immigrant: Atlantic Heritage Story’, along with several family photos have recently been added to the collection of immigrant stories at https://immigrantstory.ca/stories/Meireles_Manuel/Meireles_Manuel.html

The website has a growing collection of real life stories about the brave souls who paved the way to the better tomorrow we are now experiencing, which was exactly the inspiration for me to write my family’s immigration story to begin with. It’s a great tribute and anyone can submit their family story! So you should consider doing so if you have an interesting ancestor.

Shalom Wargon has curated some excellent examples of strength, courage determination and sacrifice. His work is to be commended and I want to thank him for including my grandfather in the project as well as the live exhibit, which you may check dates and location here: https://immigrantstory.ca/
