Lisbon, May 2017 – One week after Benfica won their fourth consecutive Portuguese Championship (the tetracampeão). I held the real Primeira Liga Cup and saw the full venue during the stadium tour. I am very grateful for the experience but wished that I was there when the fans took the streets after the victory. Maybe next time!
It was most interesting for me to discover that my last name had been inscribed on the ball at Eusebio’s foot when I visited the Benfica Stadium in 2017. I swear I didn’t do it but was pleasantly surprised to find that.
